Blickwinkel ELA – Communications strategy

Cheerful nature for Dusseldorf.

The city needs new trees. That is why we are a new partner in the BLICKWINKEL ELA alliance. Together with the Düsseldorfer Jonges heritage society, ARAG SE, ERGO Insurance Group and the Fritz Henkel Foundation, we are planting new trees for the green heart of the city – in areas that were particularly affected by storm Ela in 2014.

Our campaign playfully gives the trees a voice. Just as the residents of Düsseldorf, they have a cheerful nature and view their new planting location, the history of the city and their benefactors with a sense of humor. The first trees were planted on Maximilian-Weyhe-Allee on February 20th. You can find their best quips and all the latest news on the new website designed by Kunst und Kollegen at or their Facebook page that we also manage.

Blickwinkel ELA at the Festival of Diversity

In June 2015 the city of Dusseldorf invited the public to an outside festival to honor the commitment of countless citizens and associations for their efforts of reviving the city after the storm. Almost exactly one year after the storm ELA, our alliance was present at the festival with a booth.
KuK developed and created nine informational boards with an accompanying leaflet, which informed young people about the purpose and actions of the alliance.  We also handed out branded balloons, postcards with funny campaign motifs and had fun participation activities.
